Establishing an environment that promotes mental and emotional safety is fundamental, especially when experiencing trauma symptoms and/or high levels of stress. The trauma-informed approach to treatment recognizes and acknowledges the pervasive impacts of trauma. Beyond attending to symptoms, the focus is to delicately implement empowerment-focused strategies that aim to facilitate deep self-healing and strengthen resilience. This process involves the therapist establishing trust/safety with you, continuously collaborating with you, and providing you with the utmost autonomy throughout your process.
